The purpose of this wiki is share some lesson plans and resources I have used in my Geometry classes. In 2012, I was one of the few teachers in my school responsible for helping students take the first End of Course state exam in Geometry. I had six classes and about 180 students that year who sat for the very first time in history end of course Geometry exam. It was a journey to the unknown.
This wiki was built diligently over time to share with teaching professionals and my students who consistently asked the same types of questions. And also because STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness), replacing the outgoing TAKS ( Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills), I felt the need to share my journey of teaching Geometry STAAR end of course.

As teachers, we expect students who come to Geometry class already mastered Algebra I. However, in reality, everyone needs a refresher, especially after summer holidays, and some skills really ought to be retaught and for the student to recall. To help students sharpened their Algebra I basic skills, or to freshen up their Algebra I skills, I have included a page link called Algebra Skills on the navigation bar on the left.
In year 2011-2012, Texas begins the first STAAR End of Course exams. As part of the collaborative team made up of high school teachers, we collaborated, using the Margaret Kilgo's recommended scope and sequence, sat down and selected test questions that drove instructions. This wikispace is built around the goal of providing a resource to understand the various concepts included in the EOC readiness and supporting standards of the state exam. One of my goals while constructing this website is to to make it simple and easy to use, and to help new teachers going into this "new era" of STAAR Geometry.
It is important to align the curriculum to the state standards, make the lessons fun and memorable and allow the students to learn and appreciate Geometry and Math that will stay with them for a long time to come.
Test Preps
In 2012, I have the opportunity to present instructions online and worked in small group settings. It required different skills and most important, how to make sure students understand the material through questionings and through the effective use of educational technology. Test preps include SAT, ACT and TAP (Test of Academic Proficiency) and AMC
